Victorina was very young when she left her beautiful hometown of Zachetas, Mexico, leaving her eleven siblings and parents behind to help them have a better life back home.
In the United States, her first job was as a nanny. After nannying, she picked up jobs at a restaurant and a toy factory, both of which required long hours and intensive labour. During her first few few years in the US, Victorina remembers feeling lonely and sad. These feelings of isolation were compounded by having no one to talk to, because she had no friends or family living in the US with her.
Overcoming her sadness was a challenge, but Victorina soon realized that though her life would be difficult, it would not be impossible. She was determined to continue working towards her goal of a successful and happy life in the US. Once she was able to move past her sadness and get a clear vision of what it was going to take to move forward, she was able to find happiness in the US. he met a man, who is now the father of her four children and she is very proud of the life she has been able to provide for them. She is proud to say that all of her children have received an education and that one of her daughters just graduated from college. Seeing how hard her children worked in school inspired Victorina to start the process of becoming a U.S. citizen.
Victorina is very appreciative of the support NCICC provided in helping her to become a citizen, and she is especially thankful to the tutors that helped her prepare for the USCIS interview. Now that she is a U.S. citizen she feels free, protected and relieved that she is part of this country. She is very excited to be able to vote in the upcoming elections.
Congratulations Victorina, for all that you have accomplished throughout your life! We know that with your determination and work ethic you will accomplish many more of your dreams.
Victorina era muy joven cuando dejó su hermosa ciudad natal Zacatecas, México. Dejó a sus once hermanos y padres para ayudarlos a tener una vida mejor en casa. Cuando llegó a los Estados Unidos, su primer trabajo fue trabajar como niñera. Luego trabajó en un restaurante y en una fábrica de juguetes que requería muchas horas y trabajo muy intensivo. Todavía recuerda que los primeros años en los Estados Unidos fueron muy solitarios y tristes porque no tenía familia ni amigos en los Estados Unidos. Pronto aceptó que la vida iba a ser difícil, pero también sabía que no sería imposible. Estaba decidida a continuar trabajando para lograr su meta de una vida feliz y exitosa en los Estados Unidos. Una vez que pudo superar su tristeza, tuvo una visión clara de lo que se necesitaría para avanzar, y así lo hizo. Más tarde conoció al padre de sus cuatro hijos y está muy feliz de la vida que les ha podido brindar. Está orgullosa de decir que todos sus hijos han recibido una educación y que una de sus hijas acaba de graduarse de la universidad. Fue al ver lo duro que trabajaban sus hijos en la escuela lo que la inspiró y motivó a comenzar el proceso de convertirse en ciudadana de los EE. UU. Victorina esta agradecida por el apoyo que NCICC le brindó para ayudarla a recibir su ciudadanía. También le gustaría agradecer a los tutores que la ayudaron a prepararse para la entrevista de USCIS. Ahora que es ciudadana de los Estados Unidos, se siente libre, protegida y feliz de ser parte de este país. Victorina está emocionada de poder votar en las próximas elecciones.
